Hill Challenge

The Hill Challenge is held annually, usually in April or May. The distance is about 21km (about 13 miles) with some 1,100m (about 3,500 feet elevation change). It is organized by members of the Barbados Hiking Association.

The 2023 Hill Challenge will take place on Monday, 1 May 2023

History of the Hill Challenge

The inaugural "To Hill and Back" Hiking Challenge was held on Easter Monday, April 9th, 2012 at 7:00am from Haggatts Factory Yard, St. Andrew. It was organized by members of the Barbados Hiking Association and included 13 miles (21km) with 9 hills of the roughest terrain in Barbados.

Because of Barbados Government restrictions on hosting sporting events,

the Hill Challenge did not take place in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

It will very likely take place on Monday, 1 May 2023.
